EasyLlama’s Washington Edition of Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training complies with all of the state’s mandatory requirements
On May 13, 2019, Washington state enacted SB 5258, a new law regarding sexual harassment training in certain industries. The law takes effect January 1, 2020 and applies to employers in retail, the hotel, motel, security and property services contractor industries that employ at least one person.
Our training courses on Preventing Discrimination and Harassment are designed by HR experts and meet Washington State’s latest regulations based on SB 5258 Washginton State harassment laws for certain employees and supervisors.

The following Washington’s training requirements are all covered by EasyLlama’s training courses:

Prevent sexual assault and sexual harassment in the workplace (chapter 2,3,4)

Educate the employer's workforce regarding protection for employees who report violations of a state or federal law, rule, or regulation (chapter 10,13)

Provide a list of resources for the employer's employees to utilize. At a minimum, the resources must include contact information of the equal employment opportunity commission, the Washington state human rights commission, and local advocacy groups focused on preventing sexual harassment and sexual assault (chapter 10)

When must employees be trained?
Hotels/motels with sixty or more rooms must complete training by January 1, 2020. All other required employers must complete training by January 1, 2021.

Who needs to take the training?
Managers, supervisors and any individual who spends a majority of her or his working hours alone, or whose primary work responsibility involves working without another coworker present, and who is employed by an employer as a janitor, security guard, hotel or motel housekeeper, or room service attendant.
