EasyLlama’s Canada Edition of Preventing Discrimination and Harassment Training Complies with Provincial and Federal Training Guidelines
Organizations in Canada are taking measures to ensure a working environment that is safe, inclusive, and harassment-free. Following the #MeToo movement, companies are looking for harassment training that is engaging and relevant for a diverse workforce. This is an important step in building a positive workplace and educating employees on their rights and responsibilities under Canada’s federal and provincial laws.
Employer sexual harassment prevention training requirements in Canada are provincially regulated; in many provinces, the topic of harassment is included in health and safety programs. Our training courses on Preventing Discrimination and Harassment are designed by HR experts and meet guidelines provided by the Alberta Human Rights Commission, British Columbia Rights Code, Manitoba Human Rights Commission, Human Rights Act of New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador Harassment Free Workplace Policy, Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, Prince Edward Island Human Rights Commission, The Saskatchewan Employment Act, Northwest Territories and Nunavut Codes of Practice, and Yukon Human Rights Act.

What makes our sexual harassment online training Canada compliant?
The Canadian Edition of EasyLlama’s Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training highlights the federal protections against sexual harassment under the Canadian Human Rights Act and includes an interactive map that enables employees in each province to view information on the applicable laws and sexual harassment definitions that apply to where they work. The training is available in different languages and in separate versions for employees and managers who have additional responsibilities to prevent and report workplace misconduct. The course can be easily customized with an organization’s policies and branding and includes an acknowledgment form and certificate of completion.
How long should training last?
Supervisor training must last at least 2 hours and non-supervisory employees must be trained for at least 1 hour. We offer the training in English, Spanish and 100 other languages.
When must employees get trained?
Nonsupervisory employees and supervisory employees need to be trained within 6 months of hire. In addition, organizations must train individuals within six months of their promotion to supervisory positions. Furthermore, all employees must be trained once every 2 years. All organizations must be ready for the January 1st, 2021 California training deadline.
Who needs to take the training?
The State of California requires organizations with 5 or more employees to train their entire workforce. Importantly, the training requirement applies to temporary and seasonal employees, who must complete sexual harassment training within 30 calendar days or 100 hours, if they will work less than six months.
